2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV: Quick Tour

The 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV is set to make its debut next month, and it's already creating a buzz in the automotive world. Mazda has long been known for its focus on driving dynamics and stylish design, and the CX-90 is no exception. With a new platform designed for large SUVs, this 3-row SUV promises to be a game-changer for Mazda.

One of the most exciting features of the CX-90 is its e-Skyactiv 2.5L 4-cylinder plug-in hybrid powertrain. This system delivers an impressive 323 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the most powerful models in the Mazda lineup. The 17.8 kWh battery also allows for EV mode, providing a fully-electric driving experience until the battery is depleted thus activating the gas engine and the vehicle then operates as a normal hybrid.

The CX-90's new 8-speed automatic transmission with a wet clutch is designed to provide smooth and responsive shifting, while standard i-Activ all-wheel drive should ensure excellent traction in all conditions. The longer wheelbase and tighter turning radius should also make the CX-90 more maneuverable than its predecessor, the CX-9.

Inside, the CX-90 offers seating for up to 8 passengers or as few as 6, with available second-row captain's chairs and a center console. The interior is also available with Nappa leather, heated and ventilated front and second-row captain's chairs, and real wood trim. The 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is another highlight, along with the fully digital gauge cluster.

The 21-inch diamond-cut wheels add to the CX-90's premium look and feel, making it a stylish and capable family vehicle.

Overall, the 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV is an impressive addition to Mazda's lineup, offering power, style, and versatility. If you're in the market for a premium 3-row SUV, the CX-90 should definitely be on your list of vehicles to check out. Stay tuned for our driving impressions on April 3rd!
