Mazda has always been known for producing vehicles that prioritize the driving experience, and the 2024 Mazda CX-90 Turbo S is no exception. Yesterday we took you on a tour of the PHEV variant of the CX-90, though today we look at the engine choice our YouTube audience is most excited to see: the inline-6. Dubbed e-Skyactiv G, this 3.3L turbocharged inline 6-cylinder mild hybrid system delivers 340 horsepower (319 on regular fuel) and 369 lb-ft of torque making it the most powerful Mazda ever produced. The gas engine is paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system that aids in traffic. The all-new 8-speed automatic transmission with wet clutch and standard i-Activ all-wheel drive should ensure that the power is delivered smoothly and efficiently to the wheels.
The CX-90 Turbo S also offers plenty of interior features and amenities that are sure to impress. With seating for up to 8 passengers, it’s perfect for families or groups. The available second-row captain’s chairs and center console provide a luxurious feel, while the available Nappa leather, heated and ventilated first and second-row captain’s chairs and real wood trim adds a touch of elegance.
In terms of technology, the CX-90 Turbo S has a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a fully digital gauge cluster. The 21-inch diamond-cut wheels give the SUV a sporty look, and the longer wheelbase and tighter turning radius should make it more agile and maneuverable than its predecessor, the CX-9.
Pricing for the CX-90 Turbo S starts at $51,750 for the base variant of this powertrain, with the Premium and Premium Plus models available starting at $56,450 and $59,950, respectively.
