2026 Acura Integra A-Spec: The Honda Civic Si for Grown-Ups

The 2026 Acura Integra A-Spec is, and I say this with love, the Honda Civic Si for grown-ups. It is for those of us who remember seeing the original Fast and Furious in theaters. In short, it gives you the tunable turbo heart of a Civic Si, wraps it in nicer materials, and adds the practicality of a hatchback on top. I spent a full week with one here at GT: Garage Talk®.but sadly, thanks to a Texas thunderstorm with flash flood warnings, I had to revert to filming in a downtown Tyler parking garage. Still, let me tell you what this premium little hatch is really like to live with.
A Premium Civic Si for Mature Audiences

This one is for the person who loves the idea of a Civic Si but wants the finer things. And honestly, Acura absolutely delivers those finer things here. For example, the interior is a genuinely nice place to spend time, and the whole car feels a step above its Honda cousin. So I joked all week that it is the Civic for a more mature audience, and the shoe fits. You still get the fun, but now you also get the polish. On top of that, there is a hidden benefit if you have a teenager learning to drive: a six-speed manual means they physically cannot text and drive. Of course, my son Tucker is only eight, so I have a few years. Still, I am filing that one away.
The Same Turbo Engine and Six-Speed as the Civic Si

Underneath the hood of the 2026 Acura Integra A-Spec sits the Civic Si’s 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. So it is good for 200 horsepower and nearly the same in torque. Yes, you do have to pop a prop rod to see it, which honestly feels a touch less premium than some luxury rivals. Still, I will forgive that, because it is paired with a proper six-speed manual.
That gearbox is the whole point. In fact, the clutch is so easy and predictable that you always know where it catches. On top of that, there is enough torque to pull away from a stop in second gear, a habit I picked up years ago in my Camaro SS. In short, this is a very easy six-speed to drive, and it is a whole lot of fun.
Civic Roots, Acura Polish

The Integra shares its platform with the Civic, so it looks a lot like one. In fact, everything ahead of the B-pillar is hard to tell apart from a Civic Si. Still, the details lift it. For example, up front you get a color-matched Double Apex Blue grille, a bold Acura logo, and gloss black trim against the blue paint. On top of that, all the lighting is LED, from the Jewel Eye headlights to the fog lights.
My A-Spec tester rode on gloss black 18-inch wheels wrapped in 235/40R18 Continental tires. Then you reach the back, and the big difference finally shows up. The Civic Si only comes as a sedan, while the Integra gives you a genuinely useful hatch. Ultimately, that hatch is a big reason to buy this car.
Inside the Integra A-Spec

This cabin is the reason to spend the extra money. For example, the microsuede sport seats look great, and I love the blue two-tone treatment even though it does not match the exterior paint. On top of that, I appreciate the simple standard sunroof with a manual shade. Honestly, we have gotten too used to giant panoramic roofs and motorized everything, so the simplicity here is refreshing.
Still, not everything is perfect. For example, the metal-topped shift knob gets very hot in the Texas sun, the cupholders sit right in the path of your shifting arm, and at five-foot-ten, my head brushes the rear headliner if sitting in the back seat. Above all, my one real gripe is the missing rear wiper. On a rainy day like the one I filmed in, that stings, especially when the plain Civic hatch gets one. So here is my little hack: tap the rear defroster, and it clears the glass enough to see.
What It’s Like to Drive

I owe you an apology because I could not rip this to 60 down by the lake like I normally do. Of course, a thunderstorm and flash flood warnings made my usual drive loop a bad idea. Even so, I have daily-driven a six-speed manual, and have for over a decade, and this one is a joy. Still, the sport-tuned suspension leans firm, and the low-slung body means you take steep driveways slowly and on purpose. But the payoff is a car that asks you to participate. The 1.5-liter turbo pulls strong, VTEC and all, and the manual lets you hold a gear and just go.
Meanwhile, one quirk worth knowing: the lane-keep system is torque-based, so on long stretches of straight road you have to jiggle the wheel before it believes your hands are on it. I did get to put some miles on this one because all week I ran what I lovingly call the Cory Taxi Service, since I am the only one who can drive a stick in the family. Still, that is a small price to pay for all the fun.
Should You Buy the 2026 Acura Integra A-Spec?

So would I spend right around $41,000 for this gussied-up Honda Civic Si? Honestly, yes, I would, and happily. In short, you get a lot of car for the money in 2026. On top of that, Honda and Acura have a strong reputation for reliability, and Honda is the world’s largest engine maker, so that turbo four has good bones.
Meanwhile, the ride is firm but nice, the six-speed is excellent, and the hatch makes it far more practical than any sedan. Of course, if you want more edge, the Integra Type S borrows its go-fast bits from the Civic Type R, and we reviewed that one a few years back. Still, for most people, the 2026 Acura Integra A-Spec is the sweet spot. Ultimately, it is proof that cars are not dead. So please keep buying them, because if you do, the manufacturers will keep making them.
