• Too much lives in the touchscreen. Changing the fan speed takes several taps, and it lags. Worse, the climate controls vanish when the cameras take over the screen.
• Firm ride, premium price. It rides stiff over rough roads. And at just over $50k as tested, that’s a lot for a compact.

Three-Zone Climate That Keeps Everyone Happy

This was my favorite feature by far. If you’ve ever driven with a hot, cranky kid in back, you’ll get it right away. The Q3 offers three-zone automatic climate control. So Cory and I each get our own setting up front, and Tucker gets his own zone in back. That means I can keep it cool for him without freezing myself out. He even gets his own vents to aim. As a result, the “I’m too hot” complaints mostly disappeared.

Back-Seat Cubbies in All the Right Places

I’m always hunting for a spot to stash the little stuff, like snacks, a juice box, and my son’s odds and ends. Here, the Q3 surprised me. Along with the usual spots, there are cubbies tucked between the seat bottom and the door. You don’t even see them until you open the back door. On top of that, the rear doors hold real storage pockets, not just a skinny bottle holder. In short, it feels like someone who actually hauls kids helped design it.

The trunk is genuinely versatile, and versatile is exactly what a mom needs. Firm side cubbies keep your groceries from rolling around. Removable partitions let you section things off, if you want. But here’s the part I loved. You can drop the cargo floor to a lower level, with a smooth little ramp back to the seats. So if you’ve got something taller, like a folded stroller, it still fits. I’d rather have options than one fixed setup, and this one delivers.

The 2026 Audi Q3 Design, Inside and Out

Our tester arrived in what our friends jokingly call the German rainbow: blacks, grays, silvers, and whites. Even so, the Q3 stays interesting through texture instead of color. There’s a woven, almost fabric-like material on the dash that carries onto the doors. Add in soft padded surfaces and a wood trim, and it feels genuinely upscale. Outside, I love the sleek, near-EV look up front. Better yet, the illuminated Audi rings on the back glow red at night when your headlights are on.

Visibility That Lets Me Use My Own Eyeballs

Good visibility might sound boring. Still, it matters every single time I back out with my kid in the car. The Q3 gives you big windows and a handy little peekaboo window toward the back. On top of that, a crisp 360-degree camera system helps in tight spots. I’m the kind of driver who likes to physically look before I move. Because of that, this SUV suits me well. The cameras are a nice backup, but I never felt like I was trusting the screen alone.

So did my husband win, or did I? Honestly, a little of both. There are real gripes here. That single stalk drove me crazy in a downpour when I fumbled for the rear wiper. The wood trim shows fingerprints fast. The steering wheel feels plain for a car this fancy. And burying the fan speed in the touchscreen is a headache when a simple button would do. The ride runs firmer than I’d choose, too.

But the things I was warned I’d hate? I mostly forgot they were a concern. The 2026 Audi Q3 proved easy to drive, easy to load, and easy to live with.
