My friend took one look at our 2027 Chrysler Pacifica and asked me how you take the seats out. I told her, “My friend, that is Stow ‘n Go.” They don’t come out at all. They fold flat into the floor. Her eyes went wide, and she said you could fit a whole air mattress down in the floorboard. You certainly could.

That little moment sums up this van. We just wrapped a 3,000-mile, 20-state road trip in this Pacifica, and then we lived with it for a week on our home turf here in East Texas. I wanted to see whether the little nitpicks from the road still bugged me at home, and whether the big wins still felt big. So here’s my honest, mom’s-eye take on the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica.

What’s New for the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica

The biggest change is the refreshed front end, and it’s actually this generation’s second full facelift. You get a new illuminated badge up front and new lighting, and honestly, the lights are the first thing you notice. I went back and forth, but I landed on liking it. She got a little nip and a little tuck, and she looks fresh. Some folks online think the new face is polarizing. I say people just don’t like change, so get over it. Everywhere else stays familiar, though we do have new 20-inch wheels on this Limited all-wheel-drive combo; it’s my favorite look of the bunch.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Stow ‘n Go seats that fold flat into the floor, still a class exclusive
  • The Stow ‘n Vac built-in vacuum that saved us at the beach
  • FamCam interior camera, now far more affordable
  • Genuinely useful storage everywhere you look
  • Comfortable, quiet ride, even on brick streets
  • Strong value at $57,360 as tested

Cons

  • The new blind-spot camera lives buried in the screen and can wipe out your navigation
  • Firmer seats than I expected, though they never left me sore
  • We wanted a little more punch on steep highway climbs
  • Gloss-black trim shows every fingerprint and speck of dust

Interior and Everyday Comfort

Inside is mostly a carryover, and that’s fine, because it already worked. I always love a little color, and the Nappa leather in here is lovely. Chrysler even added an Agave Blue on the Pinnacle trim that I’d happily take. The buttons are easy to find, and not too much is buried in the screen. We have physical climate controls plus digital buttons for the heated and ventilated seats, which really matters when you’re driving with kids in the back. You don’t want to go digging through a menu when you should be watching the road.

FamCam and Car Seats: The Real Family Wins

FamCam is a ceiling-mounted camera that lets us keep an eye on Tucker, or on any of the other seats, right from the front screen. We can even zoom in. I wish we’d had it back when Tucker rode rear-facing, because on those hot days I just wanted to see his face to make sure he was comfortable back there.

Big news for 2027: FamCam no longer requires the rear entertainment screens, so it drops from roughly a $3,500 option to about a $1,500 one. More families can have it now, and if we were shopping, we’d skip the seatback screens entirely. Tucker brings his own tablet, and built-in screens are just one more thing to break.

Car seats install easily in the second and third rows. The lower latch points sit in a little wedge between the seat back and cushion, so you have to seat them just right, but the top tether is easy to reach and tighten. You can even leave a car seat in the second row and still climb into the third.

Stow ‘n Go and Stow ‘n Vac: Unmatched Versatility

Here’s where the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica pulls away from every 3-row vehicle. Stow ‘n Go lets both the second and third rows fold flat into the floor, something no other van offers. Clear an empty seat, lift a floor panel, pull a handle, and the seat disappears. You go from hauling people to hauling stuff in seconds.

Then there’s the Stow ‘n Vac, a built-in vacuum tucked in the back. We put it to the test, and it reaches surprisingly far and pulls up sand and dirt like a champ. After a beach day on Tybee Island, it more than earned its keep. I honestly don’t think I’d go to the beach again in a vehicle without one.

Tech: Great Ideas, One Frustrating Miss

New for 2027 are the blind-spot cameras, and I love the idea. The execution is the problem. Say you are driving the van in an unfamiliar state; you are using your turn-by-turn navigation, but then you flip on your blinker in the city, and it wipes out your navigation right when you need it most. On unfamiliar roads, that’s exactly the wrong moment to lose your map. Chrysler, if you’re listening, a software update would fix this. To its credit, the blinker doesn’t override FamCam, so we can still keep eyes on Tucker.

The optional Harman Kardon sound system is excellent, and the cabin stays quiet enough for music, podcasts, or a phone call, even on those 20-inch wheels. The onboard 4G LTE Wi-Fi also made it easy to work on the road, and when our own signal dropped, the built-in connection picked up the slack.

Storage That Actually Thinks About Moms

Storage is one of my favorite things about this van. There’s a shelf up top with a wireless charging pad, a huge pull-out drawer that swallows my purse, a handy pass-through, and door bins everywhere you look. The second row adds USB-A and USB-C power, a storage net, and bag hooks. The rear cargo area even has covered, stackable bins, so I can load groceries, snap the lids, and carry them straight into the house.

Ride, Drive, and Power

For a big three-row van, this thing rides smooth, even on the historic brick streets of downtown Tyler. Bigger wheels usually mean a harsher ride, but the Pacifica soaks up the bumps well. I loved driving it, and I loved riding as passenger princess even more. The front seats are heated and ventilated, the second row is heated, and they’re a touch firm but never left me sore. In fact, my office chair gave me more back pain than a 3,000-mile trip ever did.

Power is mostly good. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 makes 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque through a nine-speed automatic. Around town, it’s plenty. On steep highway climbs and mountain passes, we did wish for a little more punch. The transmission shifts smoothly, though, and the all-wheel drive came in handy on our trip as we took delivery of the van at night, in the rain, in the mountains of Vermont.

Fuel Economy and Price

Regular gas and a 19-gallon tank, though the Texas heat had me remote-starting it more than I care to admit. (Photo by Cory Fourniquet)

The EPA rates this Pacifica at 17 MPG city, 25 highway, and 20 combined, on regular gas with a 19-gallon tank. We saw 24 MPG on our 3,000-mile road trip and about 16 at home, mostly because we keep remote-starting it to beat the triple-digit Texas heat.

Now the number that surprised us both. As tested, this Limited AWD lands at $57,360, including destination, starting from $41,595. When you look at the SUVs on the market that cost the same or more and give you half the flexibility, the value here is hard to beat. You can seat adults in all three rows, then fold those same rows into the floor. No SUV does that.

Holli’s Top 5 Favorite Features for Moms

Back on our home turf in East Texas after 20 states, and still an easy van to live with. (Photo by Cory Fourniquet)
  1. Built-in Wi-Fi. The 4G LTE hotspot kept us connected and working on the road.
  2. FamCam. Eyes on the kids from the front seat, now at a lower price of entry.
  3. Stow ‘n Vac. The MVP of our road trip. I would not hit the beach without it.
  4. Stow ‘n Go seats. The single biggest reason to buy a Pacifica over the other three minivans.
  5. Power sliding doors. No dinging the car next to you, and the kids love them.

Final Thoughts

After 3,000-plus miles across 20 states and a full week back home, the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica proved it’s far more than a road-trip hero. The refreshed styling looks great, the value is genuinely strong, and the Stow ‘n Go and Stow ‘n Vac features are things I now struggle to live without. My only real gripe is that the blind-spot camera execution could be better. If Chrysler could figure that one thing out, this becomes just about the perfect family hauler. For our family, it’s the most versatile vehicle in the segment, and it’s an easy one to recommend. If you want to build your own, you can compare trims on Chrysler’s official Pacifica page.
