2027 Mazda3 Pricing: AWD Hatchback Dips Under $30k as the Base Hatch Bows Out

Mazda just set pricing for the 2027 Mazda3, and the compact lineup gets a real shake-up. To begin with, most trims rise only $100 to $300. However, the cheapest hatchback disappears, an all-wheel-drive (AWD) hatchback now slips under $30,000, and the six-speed manual moves into a better-equipped trim.
Overall, 2027 Mazda3 pricing starts at $24,750 for the 2.5 S sedan before the $1,315 destination charge. Meanwhile, the range-topping 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus hatchback lands at $38,190.
2027 Mazda3 Pricing by Trim

First, here’s how 2027 Mazda3 pricing compares, trim by trim, with what the same trim cost at the start of the 2026 model year. Also, all prices exclude the $1,315 destination charge, which is unchanged from last year.
| Trim | 2026 MSRP | 2027 MSRP | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.5 S (Sedan, FWD) | $24,650 | $24,750 | Up $100 |
| 2.5 S (Hatchback, FWD) | $25,650 | Dropped | Discontinued |
| 2.5 S Select Sport (Sedan, FWD) | $25,540 | $25,740 | Up $200 |
| 2.5 S Select Sport (Hatchback, FWD) | $26,840 | $27,040 | Up $200 |
| 2.5 S Preferred (Sedan, FWD) | $27,290 | $27,490 | Up $200 |
| 2.5 S Preferred (Hatchback, FWD) | $28,640 | $28,040 | Down $600 |
| 2.5 S Preferred (Hatchback, AWD) | Not offered | $29,990 | New |
| 2.5 S Premium (Sedan, AWD) | Not offered | $30,415 | New |
| 2.5 S Premium Plus (6MT) (Hatchback, FWD) | $31,650 (2.5 S Premium 6MT) | $31,950 | Up $300 |
| 2.5 S Premium Plus (Hatchback, AWD) | Not offered | $33,350 | New |
| 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus (Sedan, AWD) | $36,940 | $37,040 | Up $100 |
| 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus (Hatchback, AWD) | $38,090 | $38,190 | Up $100 |
As a result, the sedan remains the cheapest way into a Mazda3. Also gone for 2027 are the Carbon Edition models, which were priced at $29,815 for the sedan and $30,965 for the hatchback when the 2026 lineup launched.
The Base Hatchback Is Gone, but the Preferred Hatch Gets Cheaper

First, Mazda dropped the 2.5 S hatchback for 2027. Therefore, the hatch now starts with the 2.5 S Select Sport at $27,040, which is $1,390 more than last year’s entry hatchback.
On the bright side, the front-wheel-drive (FWD) 2.5 S Preferred hatchback drops $600 to $28,040. In fact, it now costs just $550 more than the Preferred sedan, compared with a $1,350 gap last year.
Meanwhile, every 2.5 S model uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque on regular 87 octane. Similarly, each one pairs that engine with a six-speed automatic, unless you pick the manual Premium Plus hatchback.
Wireless CarPlay and Charging Spread Through the Lineup

Even the base 2.5 S sedan comes well equipped. For example, it includes 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, an eight-speaker audio system, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Plus, it gets Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane-Keep Assist, Rear Seat Alert, and Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go.
Next, the 2.5 S Select Sport adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with Alexa Built-In. It also brings 18-inch black metallic wheels, leatherette seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, and a rear center armrest with cup holders.
Meanwhile, the 2.5 S Preferred adds a power moonroof, an eight-way power driver’s seat with memory, heated front seats, and a Qi wireless phone charger. Altogether, that’s a lot of everyday convenience for $28,040 on the FWD hatchback.
An AWD Mazda3 Hatchback for Under $30,000

Above all, here’s the headline for many families. For the first time, the 2.5 S Preferred hatchback offers i-Activ AWD, and it costs $29,990. In other words, that’s an AWD compact hatchback with heated seats, a moonroof, and wireless charging for under $30k before destination.
Likewise, the new 2.5 S Premium sedan comes standard with AWD at $30,415. Additionally, it adds leather seats in black or red, a 12-speaker Bose audio system with HD Radio, and Traffic Sign Recognition.
2027 Mazda3 Pricing for the Manual Premium Plus

Next, there’s good news for drivers who like to row their own gears. The six-speed manual carries over, but it now lives in the 2.5 S Premium Plus hatchback, which costs $31,950. Better yet, that’s only $300 more than last year’s manual 2.5 S Premium hatchback.
In exchange, the Premium Plus adds LED signature lighting, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a heated steering wheel, a head-up Active Driving Display, and adaptive front lighting. Alternatively, an automatic AWD version of the Premium Plus hatchback costs $33,350.
The Mazda3 2.5 Turbo Still Tops the Lineup

At the top, the 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus keeps its turbocharged 2.5-liter engine. Specifically, it makes 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque on 93 octane, or 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft on regular 87 octane. In addition, AWD and paddle shifters come standard.
The Turbo also adds HomeLink, a 360-degree view monitor, front and rear parking sensors, Smart Brake Support Rear, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, and Cruising and Traffic Support. Meanwhile, 2027 Mazda3 pricing for the Turbo lands at $37,040 as a sedan or $38,190 as a hatchback. Of course, Mazda3 fans are still waiting to see if a true Mazda3 hot hatch ever arrives above it.
2027 Mazda3 Colors

Finally, Mazda offers eight colors for the 2027 Mazda3. Three are standard, while the other five cost $595:
- Jet Black Mica (standard)
- Premium Quartz Metallic (standard)
- Deep Crystal Blue Mica (standard)
- Snowflake White Pearl Mica ($595)
- Machine Gray Metallic ($595)
- Soul Red Crystal Metallic ($595)
- Polymetal Gray Metallic ($595)
- Ceramic Metallic ($595)
Our Take on 2027 Mazda3 Pricing

We’ve long liked the Mazda3, and our 2023 Mazda3 Hatchback family review showed it can handle car seats and everyday family life. For 2027, however, the under-$30k AWD hatchback is the standout. After all, it pairs real all-weather confidence with features families actually use, like heated seats and wireless charging.
Still, under 2027 Mazda3 pricing, losing the base hatchback raises the entry price for hatch fans. Even so, shoppers clearly still love this car, as Mazda3 sales more than doubled in September.
