The 2027 Silverado’s Prices Are In: Here’s How Every Trim, and Engine, Stacks Up Against the 2026

Chevrolet just posted the 2027 Silverado pricing for the next-generation 1500, and it paired the new starting MSRPs with an all-new engine lineup. So if you have been waiting to see whether the full-size redesign would blow up your family truck budget, or wondering what you actually get under the hood for the money, the picture is finally clear. In fact, some trims barely moved on price. Meanwhile, one did not move at all. The engines, on the other hand, took a real step forward.
Before we get into the numbers, here are a couple of housekeeping notes. First, the 2027 Silverado arrives late in 2026. Second, the lineup got a shuffle, because the trim that used to be called the LT is now simply called Silverado, while the RST and LTZ trims are gone. In short, every price below is the manufacturer’s starting MSRP before the destination freight charge, so it is a clean, trim-for-trim comparison.
2027 Silverado pricing, trim for trim

| 2026 Trim | 2026 Starting MSRP | 2027 Trim | 2027 Starting MSRP | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WT | $36,900 | WT | $38,600 | +$1,700 (+4.6%) |
| Custom | $42,400 | Custom | $43,600 | +$1,200 (+2.8%) |
| LT | $47,900 | Silverado | $47,900 | No change (0%) |
| Custom Trail Boss | $52,900 | Custom Trail Boss | $54,400 | +$1,500 (+2.8%) |
| LT Trail Boss | $59,700 | Trail Boss | $61,200 | +$1,500 (+2.5%) |
| High Country | $63,000 | High Country | $71,700 | +$8,700 (+13.8%) |
| ZR2 | $71,800 | ZR2 | $77,200 | +$5,400 (+7.5%) |
Meanwhile, two 2026 trims do not carry over at all. Specifically, the RST started at $52,200 and the LTZ started at $58,100, so neither one has a 2027 counterpart to compare.
First, for value-minded families, the headline is the volume trim. Indeed, the 2026 LT and the 2027 Silverado both start at exactly $47,900. Because Chevrolet redesigned the truck from the ground up, holding that entry point flat is unusual for a full redesign. Similarly, the workhorse trims barely moved, since the WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, and Trail Boss all land within roughly 2.5% to 4.6% of their 2026 stickers. At the top, however, the story flips, as the High Country jumps $8,700, nearly 14%, while the ZR2 climbs $5,400, or 7.5%.
What each trim adds
Beyond the numbers, the 2027 Silverado pricing tiers also reshuffle what each trim brings to the table. For example, the Silverado, formerly the LT, now includes the Z71 Off-Road package as standard on 4WD models, along with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Similarly, the Custom Trail Boss opens the off-road story with 34-inch MT tires, a 2-inch lift, monotube shocks, and skid plates, while the Trail Boss adds front bucket seats with the Multi-Flex center console and a Bose eight-speaker system. Finally, at the top, the High Country layers in a panoramic sunroof, a 22-inch wheel package, an 11.5-inch front passenger screen, and available Super Cruise, whereas the ZR2 goes furthest off-road with 35-inch MT tires, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and a 34-gallon fuel tank.
Under the hood: the new engines vs. the old

Notably, this is where the redesign earns its keep. Specifically, Chevrolet retired the familiar EcoTec3 V8s and replaced them with two all-new Small Block V8s, and it also handed the carryover TurboMax a meaningful upgrade. As a result, there is more power and torque across almost the entire lineup. Finally, for the full story on how these engines came together, see our deep dive: GM’s new Small Block V8s in the 2027 Silverado and Sierra.
| Engine | 2026 | 2027 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.7L TurboMax | 310 hp / 430 lb-ft | 350 hp / 455 lb-ft | +40 hp / +25 lb-ft |
| 5.3L to 5.7L V8 | 355 hp / 383 lb-ft | 402 hp / 428 lb-ft | +47 hp / +45 lb-ft |
| 6.2L to 6.6L V8 | 420 hp / 460 lb-ft | 481 hp / 501 lb-ft | +61 hp / +41 lb-ft |
| 3.0L Duramax | 305 hp / 495 lb-ft | 305 hp / 495 lb-ft | No change |
First, the new 5.7-liter V8 that replaces the outgoing 5.3-liter is the sweet spot for most families, and it now makes 402 horsepower and 428 lb-ft, a jump of 47 horsepower and 45 lb-ft. Next, the new 6.6-liter V8 steps in for the old 6.2-liter, and it delivers 481 horsepower and 501 lb-ft, which Chevrolet bills as the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in the class. Notably, both new V8s pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the 2.7-liter TurboMax grows to 350 horsepower and 455 lb-ft as the Enhanced TurboMax, up 40 horsepower and 25 lb-ft. Meanwhile, the 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel carries over unchanged at 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft.
Towing and payload: what the new hardware buys you

More power also reshaped the capability chart, and the most interesting change is where the tow crown landed. Specifically, for 2027 the gas 5.7-liter V8 is the towing champ at a best-in-class 13,700 pounds, a role the diesel held in 2026. As a result, that mid-tier gas V8 leaps from 11,300 pounds to 13,700 pounds, an increase of 2,400 pounds, which is, as a result, the single biggest capability gain in the truck.
| Engine | 2026 Max Towing / Payload | 2027 Max Towing / Payload |
|---|---|---|
| 2.7L TurboMax | 9,500 / 2,260 pounds | 9,400 / 2,340 pounds |
| 5.3L to 5.7L V8 | 11,300 / 2,120 pounds | 13,700 / 2,170 pounds |
| 6.2L to 6.6L V8 | 13,200 / 2,040 pounds | Not yet published on the spec cards |
| 3.0L Duramax | 13,300 / 1,970 pounds | 12,000 / 1,870 pounds |
Overall, a few things stand out. First, the 5.7-liter V8 now out-tows every 2026 engine, gas or diesel, while sitting in the middle of the range. Meanwhile, the Enhanced TurboMax holds its towing near 9,400 pounds, but it takes over as the lineup’s payload leader at 2,340 pounds, up 80 pounds. In contrast, the Duramax steps back on both counts for 2027, to 12,000 pounds of towing and 1,870 pounds of payload, because Chevrolet leans on the new gas V8 for maximum trailering. In addition, Chevrolet has not yet posted towing and payload figures for the new 6.6-liter V8, so we will update this story once those numbers are official. Finally, remember that all towing and payload figures are maximums for properly equipped trucks and vary by cab, bed, and drivetrain configuration.
The bottom line on 2027 Silverado pricing

So what does it all mean for family shoppers? In short, for most households cross-shopping the heart of the lineup, the 2027 Silverado pricing lands close to a wash. Better still, the volume Silverado trim is a genuine hold at $47,900, and you get a stronger, more capable engine lineup for the same or similar money. In particular, the families who tow will want to look at the new 5.7-liter V8, because it now pulls more than any 2026 Silverado could.
Of course, buyers reaching for the High Country and, to a lesser degree, the ZR2 will feel the redesign in their monthly payment. Keep in mind, too, that these are starting MSRPs before destination and before options, and the 2027 truck is not on lots until late 2026, so Chevrolet still has room to adjust before order books open. In the meantime, it is running offers on the current 2026 Silverado, which may well be the smarter play for a family that does not need the newest thing on the block.
