2027 Dodge Durango Adds Sub-Zero Paint for $595, Its Fourth New Color in Four Months

Dodge is not slowing down on paint. The automaker just added Sub-Zero to the 2027 Dodge Durango, making it the fourth new exterior color for the three-row muscle SUV in four months. The Dodge Durango Sub-Zero option is open for orders now at a U.S. MSRP of $595, and it is available on every HEMI-powered trim, from the 360-horsepower GT HEMI to the 710-horsepower SRT Hellcat.
That brings the Durango palette to 11 colors. It also pushes the Hellcat Jailbreak program past 22 million possible combinations, which is a lot of ways to make a family hauler stand out in the school pickup line.
What Sub-Zero Looks Like on the Durango

Sub-Zero is a solid blue-gray rather than a metallic. However, Dodge says the color still has two personalities. In the shade, it looks deep and subtle. In direct sunlight, it brightens into a cooler blue tone.
The color is not brand new to Dodge, either. Sub-Zero debuted on the Dodge Charger earlier this year before making the jump to the Durango. Under the East Texas sun, that brighter blue side should get plenty of time to show off.
The Durango Now Offers 11 Exterior Colors

Sub-Zero caps a fast run of new Durango colors. Redeye arrived in August, After Dark followed in September, and Smokescreen landed in October. We covered the Durango After Dark launch in September, and the Smokescreen name first showed up on the Durango Smokescreen Concept this summer.
Here is the full 2027 Durango color lineup:
- After Dark
- B5 Blue
- Destroyer Grey
- Green Machine
- Night Moves
- Pitch Black
- Red Oxide
- Redeye
- Smokescreen
- Sub-Zero
- White Knuckle
Red Oxide should look familiar to our viewers. In fact, it was the color on the 2026 Durango R/T 392 Blacktop Launch Edition we tested last month.
Sub-Zero Pushes Hellcat Jailbreak Past 22 Million Combinations

For buyers shopping at the top of the lineup, Sub-Zero matters even more. The Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak lets owners create a one-of-one version of the supercharged, 710-horsepower SUV. With Sub-Zero added, Dodge says Jailbreak now offers more than 22 million customization combinations.
Jailbreak buyers can mix and match from a large catalog that includes:
- Exterior colors
- Stripes
- Wheels
- Brake calipers
- Badging
- Interior colors
- Seating options
- Performance-focused design details
Our car-crazy son could happily spend an entire weekend on that configurator.
2027 Dodge Durango Pricing and HEMI Lineup

Dodge offers Sub-Zero across the full HEMI-powered 2027 Durango lineup. The entry Durango GT HEMI comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) and a 5.7-liter HEMI V8, while the R/T 392 and SRT Hellcat step up the power from there.
| Trim | Engine and drivetrain | Horsepower | Starting MSRP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Durango GT HEMI AWD | 5.7-liter HEMI V8, AWD | 360 | $43,875 |
| Durango R/T 392 | 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8 | 475 | $51,745 |
| Durango SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Jailbreak | Supercharged HEMI V8 | 710 | Not yet listed |
| Sub-Zero paint option | All trims above | $595 |
Note: Dodge did not say whether these starting prices include destination.
Dodge calls the GT HEMI AWD the most affordable AWD V8 vehicle in the industry. Meanwhile, it says the R/T 392 delivers the most horsepower per dollar of any gas SUV. At the top, the SRT Hellcat is the most powerful gas SUV ever built, according to Dodge. You can build your own on Dodge.com.
Why Paint Choice Matters on a Family SUV

A paint option is a small news item, but it says a lot about who buys a Durango. Underneath the attitude, this is still a three-row SUV with room for car seats, sports gear, and the weekly grocery haul. When Holli put the Durango R/T 392 through our family review, the usable third row with its own ceiling air vents stood out.
That is why color choice matters here. Plenty of parents want a practical hauler without settling for another black, white, or silver SUV. Sub-Zero gives those shoppers a cooler option that still looks grown up, especially with the available black stripes.
Our Take on the 2027 Dodge Durango Sub-Zero

I love that Dodge keeps finding ways to make the Durango feel fresh without changing what makes it special. Four new colors in four months is an aggressive pace, and Sub-Zero might be my favorite of the bunch. A blue-gray that brightens in the sun, paired with black stripes, is a sharp look on a muscle SUV.
At $595, it is also an easy upgrade to justify if you are already ordering a Durango. If I were building one, I would go with the R/T 392 in Sub-Zero with stripes.
