Genesis GV60 Magma Arrives With 641 Horsepower and a $69,950 Price

Genesis just gave enthusiasts a real reason to pay attention. The Genesis GV60 Magma is now officially priced, and it lands as the brand’s first high-performance model ever. For a starting MSRP of $69,950, buyers step up to as much as 641 horsepower, a track-ready chassis, and a long list of driver-focused technology. In short, the Magma marks Genesis planting its flag in the performance-EV conversation, and it does so with serious numbers behind the hype rather than styling alone.
How Much the Genesis GV60 Magma Costs

Pricing starts at $69,950, plus a destination charge of $1,545, so the out-the-door figure sits just above $71k before tax, title, and license. That places the Magma at the top of the GV60 family, yet it still undercuts many established performance EVs from luxury rivals. Because Genesis positions this model as a flagship of driving emotion, the premium buys hardware and software you simply cannot add to a standard GV60. For shoppers cross-shopping high-output electric SUVs, that price looks aggressive rather than exotic.
641 Horsepower and Boost Mode

Underneath the sheet metal, the Magma runs an upgraded dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system that produces more than 600 horsepower in normal use. Push the dedicated Boost button, however, and output climbs to 641 horsepower along with 583 lb-ft of torque. An 84 kWh battery feeds the front and rear motors, which are rated at 166 kW and 282 kW respectively. Genesis also fits an Electronic Limited Slip Differential and High-Performance Battery Control, so the Magma can put its power down repeatedly instead of fading after one hard launch.
Magma-Exclusive Driving Modes and Sound

Beyond raw output, the Magma leans hard into driver engagement. Virtual Gear Shift recreates the sensation of rowing through gears, complete with virtual RPM, shift feedback, and matching sound. In addition, GT Mode, SPRINT Mode, Launch Control, Boost Mode, and Drift Mode each tailor the car to a specific style of driving, from relaxed high-speed cruising to sideways fun. Finally, e-Active Sound Design Plus pipes exclusive driving sounds inspired by Goodwood Festival audio through external speakers, so the experience feels theatrical even without a combustion engine.
A Wider, Lower, More Aggressive Design

Visually, the Magma clearly means business. Genesis widened the stance and added aerodynamic touches such as front canards, fender breathers, and a winglet-style rear spoiler, while exclusive 21-inch forged wheels wrap wider tires for extra grip. Four exterior colors are offered, including the signature Magma Orange alongside Uyuni White, Vik Black, and Makalu Gray Matte. Inside, drivers get Genesis’ first performance bucket seats, a suede Obsidian Black cabin with Magma Orange stitching, alloy pedals, and a steering wheel with dedicated Boost and Magma Mode buttons. A 27-inch integrated OLED display and a Bang & Olufsen sound system round out the tech.
When and Where You Can Get One

Availability starts small. Genesis expects the Magma to reach select retailers in California, New York, and New Jersey in the coming weeks, so early buyers in those markets get first crack. The GV60 rides on the 800-volt E-GMP platform, which supports ultra-fast DC charging from 10% to 80% in as little as 18 minutes on a 350 kW charger. Genesis has not yet published an official EPA range for the Magma specifically. In the meantime, interested shoppers can contact a local retailer or visit genesis.com for the latest details.
