The star of the show is the exterior color, and GMC simply named it “ICON.” It takes its inspiration from the HUMMER H2’s famous yellow paint, then reworks that shade into something more modern and grown-up. GMC pairs it with a new Jet Black interior and a black front approach shield, which sharpens the whole purpose-built stance. In other words, it looks familiar and fresh at the same time, exactly what a proper anniversary edition should do.
A Red-Carpet Debut at the 2026 ESPYS
GMC did not reveal this one at an auto show. Instead, the HUMMER EV ICON | 25 debuted at the 2026 ESPYS in New York City, held at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. The moment also marks GMC’s return as Official Vehicle Sponsor of the ceremony, which raises awareness and funds for the V Foundation for Cancer Research. “Twenty-five years ago, HUMMER first captured attention and established itself as an immediate icon,” said Michael MacPhee, Global Vice President, Buick and GMC. “Today, HUMMER remains instantly recognizable as an all-electric supertruck that continues to turn heads.”
Supertruck Capability, Now With 2027 Upgrades
Underneath the special-edition styling, the 2027 GMC HUMMER EV keeps its supertruck superpowers and adds a few. Every 2027 model now comes with a native NACS charging inlet, and it still offers available vehicle-to-home bidirectional charging that can help power a properly equipped house during an outage. Off-road, you get 4-Wheel Steer with CrabWalk and King Crab, Air Ride Adaptive suspension, and an Extract Mode that lifts the truck roughly six inches to clear obstacles. Load up the 3X Pickup with the optional 24-module battery and you are looking at up to 1,160 horsepower, 13,000 lb-ft of torque, and 0-60 mph in as little as 2.8 seconds. Available Super Cruise hands-free driving, the Infinity Roof with removable Sky Panels, and up to 18 camera views round out the tech.

When Can You Get the GMC HUMMER EV ICON 25?
Production of the 2027 GMC HUMMER EV and the ICON | 25 begins later this year at GM’s Factory ZERO in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan. Both will be sold in the U.S. and Canada, with pricing and full details coming closer to launch on GMC’s official site. Trucks keep carrying the brand, though HUMMER EV sales are down over 50% so far this year, just look at GM’s first-half sales.
