The First-Ever Ford F-150 Carhartt Wears Its Work Ethic Inside and Out

Ford just gave the F-150 a workwear makeover, and it is more than a badge. For starters, the first-ever F-150 Carhartt brings a century-old workwear brand to America’s best-selling truck. It is offered on the 4×4 XLT Crew Cab. Moreover, it arrives as part of Ford’s broader 2027 F-150 updates. So what makes it special is not the brown paint alone. It is the story Ford’s designers stitched into every panel. Here is a closer look at the F-150 Carhartt, and what went into it.
What You Get in the F-150 Carhartt

First, let us cover the hardware. The F-150 Carhartt starts life as the 4×4 XLT Crew Cab. Outside, it rolls on unique 20-inch wheels. It also adds fender vents, Carhartt badging, and a lower rocker and tailgate graphic. Up front, Lobo headlamps and a Tremor hood give it an aggressive face. Around back, dual exhaust and Tremor running boards finish the look. In addition, a spray-in bedliner stamped with the Carhartt logo protects the cargo box.
Inside, the theme carries through. For example, you get themed seat covers and accent stitching on the doors, console, and steering wheel. All-weather floor mats also carry the Carhartt name. As for price, the Carhartt Package runs $4,195. The truck itself starts at $62,660 MSRP plus destination and delivery. Notably, you can order one now, with deliveries starting in early 2027.
Two Brands, One Detroit Backstory

The partnership makes sense once you know the history. Carhartt was founded in Detroit in 1889. At first, it made workwear for railroad workers. Since then, it has grown into gear worn by millions on the job. In fact, Carhartt has supplied rugged clothing to Ford factory workers since the early 1920s. So these two Detroit brands have shared an orbit for more than a century.
Much like the partnership between Ford and Filson on the upcoming Bronco Filson, the Blue Oval brand is chasing partnerships that work well with the brand image.
This is not even the first Ford Carhartt truck. Earlier this year, Ford introduced the Super Duty Carhartt. The F-150 version follows now. Notably, it shares the same design language as its Super Duty sibling. Together, they read as one family, built on the same values.
Designed From the Forge to the Fabric

For Ford color and materials designer Bhavna Mistry, this truck is personal. Her grandfather worked as a blacksmith at the forge. Today, she shapes material, texture, and proportion instead of steel. So the design started with Carhartt’s iconic duck canvas in brown. Then every detail was built around that color.

The seats tell the clearest story. In fact, the two-tone breakup mimics the construction lines of a Carhartt jacket. There is a yoke, a seam, and a contrast panel. Each one is strengthened with Carhartt’s signature triple stitch. Moreover, the colors carry meaning. The grey reflects the toughness shared with Super Duty. Meanwhile, the brown carries the warmth of the workwear that inspired it.

The Details You Might Miss

Some of the best touches are the quiet ones. For example, the floor mat texture comes from the bottom of Carhartt’s new tool bag. Most people will never notice it. That, however, is the point. As Mistry sees it, the toughest details are usually the quietest ones.

The fender badge carries that same texture. As a result, the inside and outside share a surface, not just a color. In addition, the exterior graphics echo the Super Duty Carhartt on purpose. The hardest part, she says, was knowing what to leave out. So the team let the overlap between the brands do the talking, without ever getting loud.
Built for Work Monday, Play Saturday

Ultimately, the F-150 Carhartt is aimed at a specific owner. On Monday, this truck pulls a trailer to a worksite. Come Saturday, it heads out for a family camping trip. That work-and-play duality sits at the heart of the F-150. Similarly, Carhartt shares the same DNA. After all, the people who pull on coveralls for a shift reach for a Carhartt hoodie on the weekend.
So if that sounds like you, the timing works out. The F-150 Carhartt is available to order now, with trucks arriving in early 2027. It is one of the more characterful parts of Ford’s broader 2027 F-150 refresh. As always, we will bring you a full family review here at GT: Garage Talk® once we get one in the driveway, err garage.
