Kia just announced pricing for the 2027 Kia K4 sedan and K4 hatchback, and the biggest news is what didn’t change. Most trims cost just $100 more than last year, and the base K4 LX still starts at $22,390. Add the $1,245 destination charge, and you’re at $23,635.
That matters in a segment where affordable new cars keep getting harder to find, and the K4 is a car I know well. I was on the media drive for the K4 sedan’s launch in Austin, we had a K4 EX at home, and I drove the K4 hatchback at its launch in Southern California. Here’s how every trim stacks up, what’s new for 2027, and where we would spend our money.

2027 Kia K4 Sedan Pricing, Trim by Trim
The K4 sedan comes in five trims. Compared with Kia’s 2026 K4 sedan pricing, every trim goes up $100 except the LXS, which climbs $200. Prices below do not include the $1,245 destination charge.

Even the top GT-Line Turbo lands at $29,735 with destination, which keeps the most powerful K4 sedan under $30k.
K4 Hatchback Pricing, Trim by Trim
The K4 hatchback skips the LX and LXS and starts at the EX. Each trim costs $500 more than the matching sedan, and like the sedan, each one is up $100 from the 2026 K4 hatchback pricing.

For families who haul strollers, sports bags, or a big grocery run, that extra $500 for the hatchback’s liftgate and more flexible cargo area could be money well spent.
The hatchback also has some hardware to back up its value pitch. The 2026 K4 hatchback GT-Line Turbo is the reigning People’s Vehicle of Texas (Best Value), an award it earned at the Texas Auto Writers Association’s 2026 Texas Auto Roundup in Boerne. “The K4 hatchback is a substantial amount of car at this price point,” said Cameron Biggs of CarQuicks.
What’s New for the 2027 Kia K4
This is a light update year. Kia made two changes for 2027:
- GT-Line Premium Package: Now includes 18-inch black alloy wheels on both the sedan and hatchback.
- New Color Combination: The K4 sedan GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo now offer a red interior paired with Steel Gray exterior paint.
The GT-Line Premium Package already packs a lot, including Harman Kardon audio, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, memory seats, a digital cluster, navigation, and Highway Driving Assist.
Engines and Fuel Economy
Every K4 is front-wheel drive (FWD), and there are two engines to choose from, according to Kia’s 2027 K4 specifications.

The 2.0-liter engine powers the LX, LXS, EX, and GT-Line, and its 33 MPG combined rating is the one most shoppers will care about. The 1.6-liter turbo is reserved for the GT-Line Turbo, trading five MPG combined for a lot more punch.
Which 2027 Kia K4 Trim Makes the Most Sense for Families?
If we were shopping for our own family, we would start with the EX, which is the value-minded trim we had at home. At $24,590 for the sedan, it steps up to 17-inch alloy wheels, SynTex seats that are much easier to wipe clean than cloth, and dual-zone automatic climate control, all while keeping the efficient 2.0-liter engine.
Every K4 gives rear passengers 38.0 inches of legroom, which is generous for a compact car, and the sedan’s trunk holds 14.6 cubic feet. If you need more room, the 2027 Kia K5 is the next step up, and the 2027 Hyundai Elantra is the K4’s closest corporate rival.
The GT-Line Turbo is the fun pick. At $28,490, it’s the K4 for the parent who still wants a car that feels quick on an on-ramp.

I have spent a lot of time with this car since it launched. My first drive came on the K4 sedan media drive in Austin, right here in Texas. Later, we had a value-minded K4 EX at home, which gave us a chance to live with the trim most families will shop.

Final Thoughts on the 2027 Kia K4 Pricing
A $100 bump is about as small as price increases get these days. Kia kept the K4 affordable, kept the hatchback option alive, and added a little more style to the GT-Line Premium Package.
