2027 Silverado Shipments Explode, and the Cheapest One Is Headed to North Texas

Finally, the 2027 Chevy Silverado launch just shifted into a higher gear. According to GM-Trucks.com, GM’s shipping system showed only 12 new Silverado and Sierra pickups on Saturday. Then, by Wednesday morning, 2027 Silverado shipping and Sierra shipments combined had jumped to 294 trucks.
Better yet, Texas is also tied for the most trucks headed its way. In fact, the cheapest 2027 Silverado in the entire system is bound for Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson, just outside Dallas. So, we’ve already called the dealer, and it has agreed to alert us the moment its new trucks land.
2027 Silverado Shipping Jumps From 12 to 294 Trucks in Four Days

First, some background. GM-Trucks.com tracks new inventory through GM’s consumer locator tools. Specifically, those tools list trucks as In Transit, complete with a VIN and window sticker price, before they ever reach the dealer. So, here’s how quickly the pipeline filled up this week:
| Date | Silverado 1500 | Sierra 1500 | Total in transit | Change from prior count |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Saturday, Oct. 31 | 11 | 1 | 12 | First count |
| Monday, Nov. 2 | 86 | 47 | 133 | Up 121 |
| Tuesday, Nov. 3 | 136 | 148 | 284 | Up 151 |
| Wednesday, Nov. 4 | 143 | 151 | 294 | Up 10 |
However, that small jump in 2027 Silverado shipping on Wednesday is misleading. Overnight, for instance, 43 new trucks entered the system while 33 dropped off, which usually means they reached a dealer or a sale is pending. As a result, more than 330 individual 2027 trucks have now moved through GM’s shipping system since Saturday.
In addition, GMC now has more trucks on the road than Chevy, with 151 Sierras to 143 Silverados. Moreover, 99 of those Sierras are Denalis.
Which Trims and Engines Are Shipping First

Meanwhile, the Silverado mix has grown from a handful of trucks to five distinct trims. Below, you’ll also find the Chevy side of the count, along with the lowest sticker price GM-Trucks.com spotted for each:
| Silverado trim | Trucks in transit (Nov. 4) | Lowest sticker spotted |
|---|---|---|
| Silverado | 58 | $58,415 |
| Silverado Z71 | 7 | $60,985 |
| Trail Boss | 8 | $68,085 |
| High Country | 39 | $77,660 |
| ZR2 | 31 | $83,799 |
Similarly, the engine mix leans heavily on the new Gen VI V8s. Across all 294 Silverados and Sierras, here’s what GM is building first:
- First, the 5.7-liter V8: 205 trucks, or 70% of the total
- Second, the 6.6-liter V8: 74 trucks, including every ZR2
- Then, the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel: 15 trucks, up from nine a day earlier
- Finally, the 2.7-liter TurboMax: still zero
In fact, that lines up with what we found in our 2027 Silverado V8 fuel economy story. After all, most early buyers ordered the 5.7, and that’s exactly what’s rolling off the line. On the other hand, if you’re waiting on a TurboMax, you’ll need a little more patience.
The Cheapest 2027 Silverado Is Headed to North Texas

Now, here’s the part that caught our eye. GM-Trucks.com reports that the lowest-priced 2027 in GM’s system is a $58,415 rear-wheel-drive (RWD) crew cab bound for Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson. Sure enough, that truck also appears on the dealer’s website, along with two Trail Boss models.
| Trim | Color | Drive | MSRP | EPA city/hwy | Towing (as listed) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silverado | White Sands | RWD | $58,415 | 15/19 MPG | 10,200 lbs |
| Trail Boss | Sterling Gray Metallic | 4WD | $68,925 | 15/18 MPG | 8,400 lbs |
| Trail Boss | White Sands | 4WD | $68,925 | 15/18 MPG | 8,400 lbs |
For starters, all three trucks use the new 5.7-liter V8 and a 10-speed automatic. In addition, both Trail Boss trucks include the Trailering Package, Trailer Technology Package, and Assisted Driving Package. Interestingly, though, all three also carry the standard 24-gallon tank, rather than the new 34-gallon option we covered in our 2027 Silverado fuel tank breakdown.
Likewise, GM-Trucks.com notes that two of the original dozen trucks are still listed at Stonebriar Chevrolet in nearby Frisco. Therefore, Dallas-area buyers have a real shot at seeing a 2027 Silverado in person very soon.
Why We’re Lining Up to Film These Trucks

Naturally, we couldn’t sit on this news, either. That’s why we’ve already called Reliable Chevrolet, and the dealership has agreed to alert us as soon as these trucks arrive. So, once they do, you’ll see a real-world look at a production 2027 Silverado on our YouTube channel before our own truck shows up.
After all, we’re still waiting on Cheyenne, our 2027 Silverado Custom Trail Boss long-term tester. Because of that, filming a dealer truck first gives us a head start on what to expect, from the cab to the new V8. Plus, it helps us plan our break-in routine before ours arrives.
Our Take

Overall, watching the 2027 Silverado go from 12 trucks to nearly 300 in four days is exciting, especially for Texas buyers. Still, 2027 Silverado shipping isn’t even across the country yet. So far, GM-Trucks.com reports that zero trucks are headed to California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, or Nevada.
First, if you’re shopping, search the inventory on Chevrolet.com by ZIP code, set the model year to 2027, and look for the In Transit badge. Next, call the dealer quickly, because these trucks aren’t sitting long. In the meantime, sign up for our newsletter using the form at the bottom of this page so you don’t miss our first look.
